Chandigarh files have a routing problem before they have a document problem

The tri-city sits in the middle of the highest-volume visitor and study visa belt in India, and it has an international airport that cannot serve most of the trips people from here actually take. Nearly every awkward question on a Chandigarh visa file comes out of that one gap.

IXC is international on paper, regional in practice

IXC — Chandigarh International handles the Gulf comfortably. It does not handle Europe, the UK or North America directly. So an applicant in Sector 22 planning a Schengen trip is not flying out of the airport twenty minutes from their house; they are getting to Delhi first, and the reservation on their file has to reflect whichever of those two things is true.

This is where files go wrong. Someone books a reservation showing IXC as the origin because that is their city, and the itinerary then routes IXC–DEL– Europe on a single ticket they have no intention of buying. Or the opposite: a clean DEL departure, but the covering letter talks about leaving from Chandigarh. Neither is fatal. Both invite a question you did not need to answer.

The rule we work to: reserve the sector you would genuinely fly. If you would drive or take the Shatabdi to Delhi, the reservation starts at DEL and your itinerary says so. A domestic hop you will not take is padding, and padding is what makes a file look assembled.

Why the Punjab–Haryana belt gets read carefully

There is no delicate way to put this: consulates process a very high volume of visitor and student applications from this region, and the ones that fail tend to fail on the same things — documents that cannot be checked, itineraries that do not match the stated purpose, accommodation that covers eleven nights of a fourteen-night trip.

None of that is about where you are from. It is about whether the file holds together when someone reads it properly. The practical consequence for a Chandigarh applicant is that the checkable version of each document is worth more here than it might be somewhere with lower volume, simply because more files get the closer read.

Submitting from the tri-city

Several countries let Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh applicants submit locally; others route the whole northern region through Delhi. Which applies to you is a function of your destination and the jurisdiction that mission has drawn — and those get redrawn periodically.

We deliberately do not print centre addresses or appointment availability on this page. Confirm yours on VFS Global or BLS International for your destination country. If your appointment is weeks out and the slot page looks empty, that is an appointment problem, not a document problem — and the documents can wait until the slot is real.

What we send, and when

A flight reservation held under a live PNR you can retrieve yourself, a hotel booking covering every night the itinerary claims, and travel insurance from a licensed IRDAI partner where the destination requires it. All three arrive on WhatsApp; nothing needs collecting.

We are not a visa consultancy and we do not represent anyone at a centre. We supply travel documents. The decision is the mission’s, and nobody in this city or any other can move it.

Pricing

The same wherever you apply from. Flight reservation from 799 + GST (round trip included; each additional traveller on the same trip ₹499 + GST), hotel booking from 999 + GST per hotel, travel insurance from 799 + GST — or all three for one traveller from 2,199 + GST, with insurance covering trips up to 5 days abroad (longer trips priced by days). Send us your dates on WhatsApp and we will confirm the price for your trip.

FAQ

Applying from Chandigarh: what people ask

Should my reservation depart from Chandigarh or Delhi?

From wherever you would actually begin the flight. For the Gulf, IXC is usually genuine. For Europe, the UK or North America, you are almost certainly starting at Delhi, so the reservation should start at DEL.

Do not add an IXC–DEL sector you would drive or train instead. An unnecessary domestic leg is the most common self-inflicted flaw on tri-city files.

Can I apply in Chandigarh, or does everything go through Delhi?

It depends entirely on the destination. Some missions accept northern-region applicants at a centre in Chandigarh; others centralise everything in Delhi. There is no single answer that holds across countries.

Check the official VFS Global or BLS International page for your destination. Jurisdictions get reassigned, so check it again near your appointment rather than trusting a forum post.

No. Appointment capacity sits with the centre and the mission, and anyone in this city offering to secure a slot for a fee is either reselling something they do not control or doing something you do not want to be part of.

What we can do is hold your reservation dates flexible until your slot is real, so you are not paying for documents built around a date you never got.

We will not speculate about how any mission weighs anything — we do not know, and neither does anyone claiming otherwise.

What is observable is more practical: high-volume regions mean more files, and files that do not hold together get noticed. The response is to make yours internally consistent and checkable, which is a thing you control.

Usually not for the nights you are staying with them — that is what the invitation letter and their address are for. What catches people is the gap: three nights in another city mid-trip that the invitation does not cover.

Accommodation has to account for every night the itinerary claims. Family covers the nights it covers; book the rest.

Normally within the hour on WhatsApp once we have the passport spelling, the dates and the destination. Send the passport bio page image rather than typing the name — a mismatch between the booking and the passport is the single most common reason a document has to be reissued.

A reservation is a genuine booking recorded under a live PNR — you can retrieve it with the reference and your surname. What it is not is a paid ticket.

Buying a long-haul ticket before a decision is a real financial risk, which is precisely why holding a reservation while an application is pending is the ordinary approach rather than a workaround.

No. The company is registered in Patiala and operates from there; there is no Chandigarh counter, and we would rather say so than imply a local presence we do not have. Nothing about the documents requires you to be anywhere — they arrive on WhatsApp.

No. We supply the flight reservation, hotel booking and insurance. Form-filling and representation are consultancy work we do not do, and we have no ability to influence a decision. If a local agent implies otherwise, that is the part to be careful about.

That is the normal case, and it is the reason a reservation rather than a ticket makes sense. Once the decision is in, you book the real flight for the dates you actually want.

If the dates change before you submit, tell us — the reservation and the hotel booking need to move together, or the file stops agreeing with itself.
