Enough to cover every night of your stay. Consulates read your check-in and check-out dates against your flight dates and look for gaps — a night with no bed is exactly the kind of mismatch that invites questions about the whole plan.

One city means one booking covering all its nights. A two-city trip needs two bookings whose dates meet on the day you travel: check-out of hotel one is check-in of hotel two, with nothing uncovered in between.

Flat, and per hotel — ₹299 incl. GST for each hotel booking ($4), however many nights that hotel covers. A ten-night stay in one hotel costs the same as a two-night stay: one booking, one fee. What moves the total is only how many cities — and therefore how many hotels — your trip has.

You don’t have to — and for most applicants it is simply the wrong order. Consulates do not require a paid stay; they require credible, accommodation for every night. If the visa is refused or your dates shift, a prepaid non-refundable room is money gone for nothing.

Three things: your cities, your check-in and check-out dates, and guest names spelled exactly as printed in the passports — a name mismatch between documents is the most common avoidable problem in a visa file, so we ask you to copy, not type from memory.

From there it moves quickly: we confirm the hotels and the per-hotel price in the chat, send payment instructions in the same chat, and your confirmations arrive there too — usually within minutes.

A flight reservation describes the planned route, dates and traveller names. It is separate from a paid flight ticket. Ask the team to confirm the arrangements for your application.

Leave one out and nobody writes to tell you. The confirmation is just weighed less than the documents around it.

Flights first, then hotels. The flight reservation fixes the two dates that matter — arrival and departure — and the hotel nights have to fill the space between them exactly. Do it the other way round and you end up changing dates twice.

Then aim close to your appointment rather than months ahead. If the appointment moves, tell us the same day: a file whose hotel dates no longer match its flights drifts out of step quietly, and the mismatch is usually spotted by someone else.

The travel document itself. A night on an overnight train or a red-eye flight is covered by that reservation — attach it, and its dates should sit between the hotel before and the hotel after like any other link in the chain. An airport hotel before an early connection works the same way.

Two things. Every traveller on the application should appear on the booking, spelled as in their own passport — a missing name or a variant spelling is one of the commonest accommodation errors there is.

And the room should fit the party. A single room for a family of four, or one dorm bed for a couple, will not sink a file by itself, but it makes the reader look twice — and files that get a second look get more questions. Book what a real version of your trip would book.

No document can — and you should be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. Accommodation proof answers one specific question in your file: where will you stay, every night? It answers it in a way the officer can check, which is exactly why it helps.

The decision itself weighs the whole application — your purpose, your funds, your ties to home, and whether your documents agree with each other. A confirmed hotel booking that matches your dates removes one common, avoidable doubt. It never buys an outcome.
